The Snail and the Whale

During Information Literacy this week, grade 1’s read “The Snail and the Whale” by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Students created their own Whale using shiny cellophane as a blowhole.

Everyone then drew their own Snail on the tail of their Whale using Drawing Pad!

Penguin Pete

This week we read “Penguin Pete” by Marcus Pfister. We had a great time putting our foot into black paint to create a foot print penguin! The results were fantastic!

We also drew a picture of a penguin in Drawing Pad and made a collage using Pic Collage.

The Grade 1’s are exploring different sea creatures and this week it was the seahorse!

Firstly we read “Mister Seahorse” by Eric Carle. Then we had a great time creating and decorating our own “Mister Seahorse” by carefully gluing down seashells. They looked beautiful!

Clumsy Crab and Penguin Pete

Last week we read “Penguin Pete” by Marcus Pfister. It was a great book. We then painted our foot black and used our footprint to make penguins. They look so good!

This week we painted our hands red and made crabs after reading “Clumsy Crab” by Ruth Gallaway. We drew pictures of crabs in Drawing Pad and inserted them into Pic Collage.
