Today in Information Literacy we had the privilege of sharing ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go!’ with the grade ones. This is definately my favourite Dr Seuss book of all time. It has such a strong message that applies to both children and adults alike. Basically it is about taking charge of your own life and facing difficulties such as loneliness, fear and confusion head on.
“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So……….get on your way!”
There are so many things that I love about this book that it would take me all day to list them. You’re just going to have to read it for yourself!
After discussing the book the children had to think of one place they would really like to go or one goad they really wanted to achieve. We talked about having goals and dreams and how if you write them down and record them it makes them feel more real.
